Intermediate Civil 3D Training

The Intermediate Civil 3D Training course will help you to develop your intermediate-level Civil 3D skills and prepare you for the AutoCAD Civil 3D certification exam.

During this Civil 3D training, you will build upon your existing AutoCAD experience by learning fundamental and intermediate concepts on how to work effectively with Civil 3D. This AutoCAD Civil 3D training course is hands-on, real-world applicable, and project-based training—so you can get the skills and knowledge needed to demonstrate you understand how to create a set of construction plans using Civil 3D and more.

Upon completion of this Civil 3D certification course, you will be prepared for the AutoCAD Civil 3D certification exam.

What you will learn

• Recognize the surveying and mapping, transportation design, and land development elements and commands in the Civil 3D environment
• Learn about survey and COGO points, point marker and label styles, point groups, linework code sets, figure prefix databases, survey imports, parcels, sites, parcel labels, TIN surfaces, surface labels, and surface analysis
• Learn about alignments, surface profiles, design profiles and view windows, assemblies, corridors, intersections, sample lines, cross sections, and 3D visualization
• Learn about drawing template files, data shortcuts, feature lines, grading groups, pipe networks, pressure networks, and paper space

• This course must be taken on a PC. Mac and Chromebooks are not compatible.

Software Requirements:

• PC: Windows 7 or later.
• Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is provided for the duration of the course upon enrollment. Civil 3D Software Requirements

• Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.

To successfully complete the ACP, you typically need approximately 1200 hours of real-world Civil 3D software experience and a general understanding of the following topics:

• Points, parcels, and surveying
• Surfaces and grading
• Alignments and profiles
• Corridors and sections
• Pipe networks
• Plan production and data management

This course is designed to be self-paced and does not involve any live classes. Instead, students will have access to various self-learning resources, including video materials, practice projects, e-books, and other materials available within the course modules. Although there is no direct interaction with an instructor, students can seek help from an industry expert by submitting questions via email.
